Zahir, 2014

  • Bold aromas of ripe red and black fruits, cassis, and blackberries with hints of spice
  • Aged in French oak barrels for 24 months, followed by 30 months of bottle aging
  • Silky tannins with rich complexity and a long, structured finish

Calyptra Zahir Cabernet Sauvignon is a masterfully crafted wine sourced from the oldest and lowest-yielding vineyard blocks in the Chachapoal Andes Valley. Limited to just 4,000 kg per hectare, this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon undergoes meticulous hand-harvesting and selection, followed by cold maceration and fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Aged for 24 months in French oak barrels and an additional 30 months in bottle, it develops deep layers of ripe red and black fruit, cassis, blackberries, and hints of tobacco, black pepper, and cinnamon. The structured yet silky tannins create a long and balanced finish, showcasing the elegance of Alto Cachapoal’s terroir.
